I am offering a beautiful Louis XIV Rococo double bed. The bed is white with a floral design. The head and foot board of the bed are padded with pale green shadow padding. The bed comes with a mattress and 2 pillows. The mattress is removable. At the end of the reign of Louis XIV in 1715 there was a shift away from classicism that had governed French furniture for 50 years. The new style was called Rococo. The Royal Palace of Versailles was abandoned by the aristocracy. A new style was created in art and furniture. It was airy in design, romantic and frivolous. Furniture became less formal but well made. Incorporated with furniture design was scrolls , shells, flowers, curved shapes and nature in general. The word "Rococo" means shells. This beautiful bed incorporates the colors and the romance of the Rococo period. The bed measures 4 x 7 x 4.50 inches.
