French Antique Dormeuse Earrings - 18k Gold

Purchased from an antique jewelry shop in France.

These earrings are a "dormeuse" design, where the hook passes from behind the earlobe to the front and is inserted into the hole of the motif. This type is comfortable to wear even while sleeping, and is also known as a sleeper earring.

The earrings feature intricate details and delicate engraving on the surface, but there is some damage such as slight crushing to the decorations, so the price reflects this.
